Event 2007
A Bionic Tribute Dinner

Below is a recap of the evening's activities.

I would like to thank everyone for coming this evening,
and please welcome Mr. Andrew Prine.
(Kathy Bartels)

Andrew introduced:

Ginger Hadfield – Lindsay’s hairdresser

Inge Lindgren – Lindsay’s Stand-In and Photo Double

Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman)

Martin E. Brooks (Dr. Rudy Wells)

Jennifer Darling (Peggy Callahan)

Rick Lenz (Dr. Michael Marchetti)

And Lindsay Wagner (Jaime Sommers)

Then, plaques were presented to our celebrity guests
by FanSource Attendees with their winning statements.

Rod De Luca to Richard Anderson

“The first line of a review for the new series Bionic Woman in the LA Times read,
“I miss Oscar”.  What a remarkable and insightful comment for Oscar Goldman’s enduring legacy
to a generation thirty years later.  He is a father to all of us.”

W. Ben Bangs to Martin E. Brooks

“As the doctor who invented bionics, you made science cool.   Thanks for being a role model
for brainy kids and a hopeful vision of what medical science might achieve one day.”

Romie Rincon to Jennifer Darling

“Peggy you’re Mom would be proud.  Thanks for helping Steve when he was
a fugitive  and for making us all fall in love with you.”

Frank Moultak to Rick Lenz

“You brought Michael’s love for Jaime to life in an understated way.
Michael never over-stepped his boundaries, and always remained a gentleman.
We really sympathized with him, even though we may have rooted for Steve.”

Kathy Bartels to Lindsay

Thirty years ago Jaime Sommers came into our lives and we fell in love with her. She was our hero, not just because she was bionic, but because of the special person she was and what she personally stood for.  Thirty years later we are here tonight to thank the woman who opened our hearts to so many things.  Because of the example you set, the people in this room tonight, along with so many others that couldn’t be here this evening , have accomplished so much.  We have rescued a baby African elephant to give her a chance at a new life, you have raised our awareness to social issues such as domestic violence and child abuse.  Over the years we have watched each other grow as human beings, and have forged friendships with people all over the globe, being there for each other in good times and bad.  Even tonight, we are here not only get your autograph, but because our hero Jamie Sommers always thought outside of herself and wanted to give back to others – and so do we.  We are here tonight to honor the cast of this special series that came into our lives each week, and to especially thank the man that we all know and love as Oscar Goldman.  I know everybody in this room would like to get up and tell you personally how you have impacted their lives, and so instead we are presenting you with a book that you can read for yourself how much you have changed our lives for the better. Thank you for coming and enjoy the rest of the evening.

The Bionic Tribute Dinner was a fund-raiser to honor Richard Anderson with a star
on the Palm Springs Walks of Stars. This began at Lindsay's fan club reception at
the 2006 FanSource event. Fan club members Jim Sherrard and Jennifer Johnson
specifically set this ball rolling by wishing to honor Richard, someone
everyone so admired and wanted to let him know so.  It took months of
planning, but finally came together when the Palm Springs Chamber of
Commerce accepted Richard's application for a star.

At the end of the dinner, Lindsay got up and spoke about this honor
that had been a year in the making.  Below are photos of Lindsay speaking
and also of Lindsay presenting Richard with a special plaque, donated by
Joe Hooper, from the Hollywood Walk of Fame Stardust Collection.
The street ceremony took place in Palm Springs, on Oct. 22, 2007.

Thanks to Jennifer Johnson for all the photos.
