Tron Legacy Alan Bradley Bruce Boxleitner

At the press conference itself, first a woman got up on stage and introduced herself as an Encom press representative. She talked a bit about the history of the company and Alan Bradley - most notably, Bradley was CEO of Encom for a while in the late 1980s-early 1990s, but then stepped down. And now he's come back as a vaguely defined executive consultant, particularly working with Encom on environmental issues. Eventually, the man himself took the stage - accompanied at times by his lovely wife, Lora (Cindy Morgan). Boxleitner/Bradley gave a long, ten-minute speech about how much our computer technology has progressed since he started working for Encom - apparently in the movie's universe, Encom works on pacemaker implants as well as tons of communications software. But more to the point, Encom is bringing back its classic Space Paranoids game. And they're porting it to the Internet, so you can play it in your browser. Not only that, but the game will be with you, wherever you live. You'll have "Recognizers in your bedroom," said Bradley. But the game's engine will still be based on the code that long lost visionary Kevin Flynn created - including 15 new levels that Flynn created, which were never rolled out before. Some people at Encom wanted to do away with Flynn's original code and start over, but Alan Bradley prevented them. He also made a sentimental speech saying that Flynn is still alive in all of us. And then Bradley's speech sort of wound down, as though he was waiting for something to interrupt him and it wasn't quite happening. Just as Bradley had totally run out of things to say, the P.R. rep came back on stage and told him there were unforeseen difficulties, hustling him and his wife off stage ...

At the WonderCon viral event for Tron Legacy, Encom International Executive Consultant Alan Bradley (played by Bruce) announced that one of the TRON LEGACY games would be coming soon, and now  EncomInternational.com has posted a trailer for the game "Space Paranoids Online" hich you can now watch.

Posted March 15, 2010:
Bruce has been cast in the upcoming new Disney animated series based on TRON LEGACY.  The series would be aimed at children ages 6-14 and that this will be a 10-part micro-series, which will air on the new channel Disney XD in the fall of 2011.

Posted Feb. 28, 2010:
The new 3D trailer will be in movies theaters on March 5, 2010 prior to showings of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, but here's a brief description.
Trailer Synopsis: The trailer starts off on the slow side, building a mystery. Bruce Boxleitner, reprising his role of Alan Gartner (as well as portraying TRON), is telling Sam Flynn about his missing dad, Kevin Flynn. He had discovered something that was going to change the world two days before he went missing. Now Boxleitner gets a phone call from a phone from Flynn's Arcade ... a line that should be dead! Soon enough, Hedlund, with an appropriate chip on his shoulder from not having a dad in his life, is at the arcade (he gets there by motorbike, speeding down late night streets and jumping his motorbike from the highway to an off-ramp) and... before long, he's in the computer world. Here the trailer's pace jumps up a notch, with a series of quick and very teasing images of the world fans have been waiting to come to since 1982: a massive city, a blocky transportation machine, Olivia Wilde lounging sexily in a glowing suit, gladiator games, more gladiator games with sexy sirens, Bridges with a retinue of underlings, a blink-and-you-missed-him Michael Sheen, maybe a meeting of father and son, and the kicker ending, a lightcycle race with an explosion.

Tron Uprising Bruce Boxleitner

Posted Feb. 1, 2012

Watch for TRON: UPRISING to premiere some short episodes in April on DisneyXD before the actual series run starts in June.

Posted July 31, 2011:

The new series is set for ten episodes to be broadcast in the summer of 2012 on DisneyXD.

Official Synopsis: Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series follows Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron – the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron’s persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces.

Posted July 8, 2011:

Before it finds life as an animated series on Disney XD in 2012, TRON: Uprising, the sequel prequel, will make its debut as a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) according to the publisher’s description of the junior novel of the same name.

Slated to be released on January 3, 2012, which is historically early relative for a movie it promises in the spring, the book’s description reads as follows:

When the computer world of The Grid is taken over by an evil tyrant, one young man named Beck must join forces with the legendary hero Tron to free his home city. Under Tron’s tutelage, Beck will take on a secret identity to fight back, bringing a superhero sensibility to the world of Tron. Featuring brand new settings, characters, and vehicles, TRON: Uprising will bring a unique style and classic storytelling to the Disney Channel and Disney XD!

The animated original movie, hitting TV screens in spring 2012, will kick-off a brand new series in summer 2012. Kids who can’t get enough of superheroes, action-adventure stories, and the sleek and unique look of TRON are sure to love this retelling of the TRON: Uprising original movie. The novelization will be a retelling of the events of the movie, and will include a full-color eight page insert with frames from the stunning animated feature!

Voice talents attached to the movie and series include Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen and Bruce Boxleitner as TRON. The series is anticipated to air on Disney XD beginning summer 2012.

Expect more details on both the series and information to be revealed in the coming weeks during both San Diego Comic-Con 2011, where the show will be previewed to attendees, as well as Disney D23 Expo.

Posted July 3, 2011:
Disney's Tron: Uprising is indeed coming to San Diego Comic-Con 2011, though not in the way you might think. The series won't hold its own panel, but rather a special preview of the series will be attached to the panel for Disney XD's Kick Buttowski - Suburban Daredevil, which takes place on Saturday, July 23rd from 12-1pm in Room 25ABC

The animated series officially debuts in 2012, but fans need only wait until this coming fall for the 10-part miniseries' beginning, which boasts a ridiculous amount of starpower in its voice cast, including Elijah Wood as Beck, Emmanuelle Chiqri as Page, Mandy Moore as Mara, Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee!) as Pavel, Lance Henrikson as Tesler, Reginald VelJohnson (Carl Winslow!) as Able, and Bruce Boxleitner himself reprising his role as Tron.

The official description reads: "Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron - the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron's persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces."

The series already has a rather impressive voice cast lined up, including : Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Nate Corddry, Lance Henriksen, and of course Bruce as 'Tron'. It will be an animated series that is scheduled to air in the summer of 2012 on Disney XD. In addition, Disney has a 10-part micro series planned to begin in the fall of 2011.

The show would focus on a character named Beck, to be voiced by Frodo himself, Elijah Wood. The character of Beck will be a disciple of Tron apparently and will be attempting to lead an uprising inside The Grid. According to Adam Horowitz, who will also act as a consulting producer on the show (with his co-screenwriter Edward Kitsis), the series will give them a chance to further expand the universe of Tron. In addition, it will also allow them to tie up and expand on many of the loose ends and storylines they couldn’t explore during the course of the film.
